Next, you can get your online tickets at a kiosk, which is convenient, but immediately becomes void when you have to go down 2 flights of stairs to validate your parking ticket at the box office. The fact it's a highly visible/visited location for tourist, makes it that much more below par. Something is wrong with the speakers in the theater we saw it in, and the voices are very muffled.

The trailers were uncomfortably loud, but the movie volume was appropriate. They probably thought I was coming on to them, it was bad... LolThe movie itself was quite interesting though. When you watch a movie here, you get 3 hours of validated parking. When my party gets seated 3 of us sat together and the other 2 sat in front of us. The seating is somewhere between stadium and old school auditorium seating. There is nothing from there. Adding to the feeling this isn't the most polished of theaters, the employees didn't seem to know how to let people out after the show--some folks headed to the wrong side of the theater, and others exited a door midway down, only to find a dead-end at an elevator. Nice theater, very comfortable and clean. Let history come to life on the giant screen. There was not a lot of PR or "hype" about this movie as an option for tourists.

Rack up 500 points and you'll score a $5 reward for more movies. They got us in and sat us down pretty quick and the show started quickly right after that, Price of concession food is about the same cost as a typical movie theater.

This is the original Imax theatre in San Antonio. The Alamo film isn't bad--it tells the heroic (but not totally accurate) version of events at the Alamo, with B-level actors like Don Swayze. With screens in twenty-nine locations along with some more being built, Alamo Drafthouse is infamous for the quality cinematic experience it offers. My issue was that the theatre had a mildew/mold odor that was really musty. I was actually pretty surprised at how clean the whole place was considering that movie theaters typically struggle keeping popcorn and trash off the theater floors.
