In 1980, I was gifted with extraordinary intuition, an inner voice that has guided me ever since.

At the funeral home, Beth and Daryl find a funeral parlor with walkers dressed up in suits and placed in coffins and on mortuary tables. Beth is hopeful when it comes to her father's situation, compared to Maggie who gives up hope for Hershel when he is unconscious. Whenever Maggie is depressed, Beth, Hershel or Glenn are usually the ones who comforted her. Later on in the episode, Zach gets bitten and dies. The two later find the bar as well as a bottle of Peach Schnapps. She and the others worry about the current state of Rick's mind. After Beth has unsuccessfully tried to talk around the pair, Dawn tells her that she had just killed the patient. The group manages to pull her away before she is bit. "It's just so pointless" said Beth. She graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2006. After the shooting, Rick's group are allowed to leave without further violence. As a result of her father's heavy drinking, she never drank alcohol. After the group was ambushed by The Governor, and the death of her father, Beth fled with Daryl Dixon, where they soon developed a close sister-brother like bond. Beth is first seen narrating the episode. Daryl carries Beth's body out of the hospital just as the other half of the group, including Beth's older half-sister Maggie, arrive. Beth is the second main character to die in a mid-season finale, the first being her father Hershel, the third being, Beth is also the second original main character in the TV Series to die, the first being. At this point, Gorman walks in on her and gives her an offer for him to keep a lid on her theft, in return for her to be controlled by him in a sexual context. He is shown to be shocked in the scene immediately after her death. Stay current. She stands outside with everyone else when both groups greet each other. Then, when the group was planning a rescue mission to recover them, she volunteered to accompany the group. Daryl tries to say otherwise, but Beth knows it to be true while he will most likely be "the last man standing", also advising him to be who he is right now, not who he was. In another hallucination, Rick walks through a floor full of the corpses of his friends and loved ones, Beth among them. Hershel always protected Beth from the harsh reality from the outside world and not to follow the bad things he had done in his past life, such as going to jail and drinking alcohol. During her time at the prison, Beth was the nurturer, babysitter, and caretaker of Lori and Rick‘s infant child, Judith Grimes. Beth talked about people dying and Judith then begins crying, so Beth cradles her and sings her a song. Later, the survivors, with the exception of Andrea, regroup on the highway where the Atlanta survivors left supplies for Sophia. Withdrawn and dealing with his own emotions eternally, Daryl says little to Beth during their first few days alone.

She witnesses her father being pulled out of the truck at The Governor's orders by Alisha and she and Maggie hold hands, hoping that their father's life is spared.

Rick feels uneasy hearing the statement and feels headache as Judith's cries echo through the room and fill it with disturbance around his mind.

At the end of the episode, Beth and Hershel got out of the cage and the group found out that Lori had died giving birth. Beth looks on, worried and shocked. Judith then throws up on Beth, and Beth asks of Michonne to hold her while she changes her clothes. She was in a relationship with Jimmy, another survivor of the apocalypse. She helped her father, Hershel Greene, on the farm on several occasions. Jimmy was often protective of Beth. After Beth is shot by Dawn, Sasha can be seen with tears in her eyes, clearly saddened. Due to what they saw on the news, Hershel believed the infected were still alive and while dangerous, needed to be cared for as he believed the pandemic would end and a cure would save them. In this episode, Beth is first seen smiling at Carl as she walks with Lori to Hershel's cell. First being. When Steven Edwards tells Dawn that Gavin Trevitt cannot be saved, Dawn angrily responds by slapping Beth on the cheek, causing her suture to reopen. She turns the body over and is subsequently attacked by the zombified corpse of her mother. After The Governor's attack on the prison, Maggie and Beth are separated and even though it is obvious that Maggie is worried about Beth, she doesn't show it and instead focuses on finding Glenn. Maggie always looks out for Beth and will always protect her, even if it means her death. As she was about to disregard her good morals and nearly made the decision to kill Dr. Stevens for causing the death of a patient, but stops as she sees her fellow survivor, Carol Peletier, carried in on a stretcher. Later, the two argue over the fate of Carol as O'Donnell attempts to get Dawn to order Edwards to turn off the machines keeping her alive, angering Beth. When seeing Beth's dead body being carried out of the hospital by Daryl, he becomes upset, but more upset for Maggie as he tries to comfort her.

He ultimately feels bad, along with the rest of the group, that he couldn't do more to prevent her death. She witnesses Shane handing out guns to his group and notices her father, Jimmy, Rick, and two walkers: Louise Bush and Doug. Hershel still had his habit of drinking alcohol, but strictly forbade her ever to drink. When Beth comes out of her catatonic state she is nursed by Lori, who makes sure she has food and exercise and offers empathy for the loss of Beth's mother (who as a walker was killed outside the barn after attacking Beth). This means that Beth has to pay back, as she has taken from others. After Hershel woke up the second time, she and Maggie hold each other while crying and finally things calmed down. Daryl watches Beth kill the walker, and Beth sarcastically thanks him for his help.

Carl is always seen guarding Beth whenever both of them are actively present at dangerous activities, such as when The Governor attacks the prison the second time. Beth also shows concern about Lori's pregnancy, she shows she is supportive and even informed Lori that the Prison is safe for the baby to be born.
