Negan asks the boy if he could put down Lucille for him and the boy agrees. She did not interfere when her teenage daughter was raped and abused by other Whisperers, believing the experience would strengthen her daughter. Knowing that nothing he says will work, Negan proceeds to taunt Rick about the reason why he's keeping him here, only to prove to himself and no one else that he has mercy, and that he wants others to believe he's a good person and the only one who can fix the world. Spencer Monroe is the mid-20s son of Douglas and Regina Monroe, his father being a former United States senator who helped found Alexandria.
Negan watches angrily. He tells Rick he knows what he did was wrong and he helped him to see that which is why he stayed in the cell, brought back Alpha’s head and saved his life. Since Negan is unarmed and seemingly poses no immediate threat, they agree to take him back to Rick. They claim multiple victims, and while some are maimed, others are killed outright. In a ritualistic fashion, complete with chanting from the followers answering to Negan's words, shows that whoever falls onto his bad graces are dealt with by having their faces burned by a searing iron. Negan, impressed by Brandon's words, tells him that he'll think about it. When Rick's group joins the community, Spencer is immediately smitten with Andrea, who wants very little to do with him.
In the Comic Series, Negan is a very tall and physically imposing man with a shaven face, square jaw, and his leather jacket's zipper is on his left side, whereas in the TV series, while still very tall, he is thinner, has a stubble, his jaw is more round, and his leather jacket's zipper is on his right side, which is more appropriate since men's leather jackets have the zipper on the right side, while women's leather jackets have the zipper on the left side. Negan is later present when the group discuss where to station themselves. Negan laughed and when Glenn attempted to get to his feet, the former remarked that "he's taking it like a champ" before swinging Lucille at Glenn, dislocating his jaw and beating Glenn to death. Long before Negan arrives on the scene, his Saviors slowly become a recurring threat to Rick and the residents of Alexandria. Rick finally agrees to let Negan out of the cell, but not in a community. It's all pretty twisted. However, Negan orders his men to stand down since he knows that he crossed the line. Despite being a violent, sadistic and murderous sociopath, he does have a compassionate and insightful side to him that comes out at times: this is shown when he makes fun of Carl's damaged eye and when Carl begins to cry, Negan quickly apologizes to the poor boy. Fortunately, Rick springs into action, knocking Ethan to the ground and slitting his throat. From Season 9 onwards, Negan becomes more of an anti-hero. She's killed by Dwight with an arrow through the eye, in a twist on the same fate that befell Abraham Ford in the comics. Negan hates whining and that’s exactly what he hears when Spencer starts voicing his feelings about Rick. He then goes on to explain to the boy that life is just a constant hunt for sex right before he stops himself. I'm obviously not talking about Glenn here, but based on the below list, you might be a bit relieved to see that the worst of his kills has already happened â at least if the show follows the comics. They don't try to kill zombies, they live among them, wearing zombie skins over their own flesh to blend in. In Season 10, Negan's original leather jacket and the red scarf returned. In Season 8 and 9; Negan has not been seen wearing the scarf.
Negan also probably believed that removing Abraham from Rick's group would leave the group at a certain practical disadvantage. Denise is killed when Negan uses his ruse of returning Holly to Alexandria, only for it to be discovered that Negan had killed her already, and allowed her to reanimate as a zombie. Considering the recent introduction of Jeffrey Dean Morgan as übervillain Negan, and given how much of the show's overall story comes from the comics, there's a question that TV fans are undoubtedly wondering: who else does Negan kill in the comics?
He tells Negan that Rick should be killed because he doesn’t have what it takes to be a leader. Negan tries to grab Lucille from Dwight's back, but Dwight doesn't let him. He says Rick's way of thinking is inspiring. A handful of skirmishes result in Alexandria's residents believing themselves victorious -- and several Saviors killed. Here's a complete list of his victims to date. As well as his dislike towards rape, Negan also dislikes killing people at random, which is never shown by any of the other main antagonists in the series, save for Chris and The Hunters. And in retaliation for the deaths of his men, he proclaims that he'll have to kill one of Rick's group right here, right now. Before that event and all of the carnage that ensues after, Negan surprises Alexandria with his presence outside the city by lobbing grenades over its defensive walls. After their escape, Brandon gives Negan his clothes to him and head for the Whisperer's camp. Rick tells everyone to get back as one of them is overrun.
Negan taunts Rick about Andrea's supposed demise and Nicholas interrupts him, pleading for his life. Negan then tells his unconscious wife that it's better that she's sleeping through the strange events unfolding and that everything should be normal once she wakes up, right before breaking down. When Rick goes to meet Ezekiel in the comics, Negan goes to Alexandria and kills Spencer. Act as the feared and powerful leader to the Hilltop Colony and the Alexandria Safe-Zone (temporarily succeeded, but later failed).Kill Glenn and Abraham to "avenge" his own men (succeeded).Steal "half" of Alexandria Safe-Zone supplies (succeeded).Gut Spencer Monroe alive in public (succeeded).Kill Rick Grimes and take over the control of all the communities in D.C (failed).Escape the jail (succeeded).Behead Alpha and bring her head to Rick Grimes (succeeded, comic).Protect Alexandria Safe-Zone from The Whisperers (succeeded, comic).Leave the Alexandria Safe-Zone.Kill Carl Grimes as punishment for deference (failed, television).Protect Judith Grimes and possibly help the Militia (ongoing, television). Unfortunately, I don't anticipate that the show will let fans off the hook that easy â especially since Negan is currently holding Daryl hostage and as Daryl never appeared in the comics, his fate is a complete mystery.
He also has a weird and disturbing relationship with his baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire, "Lucille", indicating that he is an objectophiliac.
This makes Negan indirectly responsible for Abraham's death. Negan in both the Comic Series and TV Series are different in some ways. He served as the main antagonist from Volume 17: Something to Fear to Volume 21: All Out War, Part 2. Alpha's introduction on television is not expected to happen until sometime in Season 8, at the earliest. The boy then asks if Negan's fine, because of his wife dying minutes before, and his weird behavior in light of that event.
Unlike many other villains throughout the series, Negan does not underestimate his enemies, at least not as much as other villains do; he knows full well how battle-experienced and dangerous Rick and his group are and as a result, he admires their skills and views them as extremely useful for his cause, hence why he keeps them alive. Negan tells him no and that he will do something, but Rick has to stay.
Negan is the totalitarian and magisterial leader of The Saviors, a hostile group of outbreak survivors that are pitted against Rick Grimes' group.
Rick also reveals that the knife he slashed Negan with was not infected. Ethan watched as Negan killed Hilltop survivors Andy and David, and the fourth member of the group, a woman named Crystal, was taken prisoner. He asks if he thought he was going to lock him out at the last minute and mentions that the others were scared and ran right past him. Also, he is willing to spare anyone whom he sees as potentially useful and can be reasonable during negotiations, and he is a man of his word as he promises to help communities clear out walkers near their homes and will not destroy their communities, as long as they give him half of everything they have once a week. He's initially wary of going to war with Negan, desiring instead to maintain his duties of protecting Hilltop. In this case, it was the face of Amber's former lover Mark, who is left deformed in the same manner as Dwight with a portion of his face permanently scarred and leaving an exposed eyeball. Negan is the fourth major primary antagonist in the TV Series, the first being Shane Walsh, the second being The Governor, and the third being Gareth.
After Andrea witnesses this and rebuffs him harshly, he begins to conspire with another malcontent to assassinate Rick.
After refusing to leave with the doctor, because his wife cannot leave in her condition, Negan is told to save himself. After being told by Negan that his wife has cancer, Negan's mistress quickly becomes angry at him, understanding that Negan told her this to make her feel guilty, and ends the relationship. After expressing sympathy, Negan slits her throat and beheads her. They've adopted primitive, survival-of-the-fittest behavior. She also patches up Carl, who was caught in another of Negan's grenade blasts. I refuse to dwell, so let's move on. With insight rarely associated to violent antagonists, Negan appears to both observe and appreciate the concerns and intentions of his opposite numbers. As fans of The Walking Dead TV series are well aware, the depiction of Glenn's (Steven Yeun) death on the small screen took no shortcuts in the brutality department. The conversation is cut short by a walker that emerges suddenly and kills the boy. When his lover asks what's wrong, Negan reveals his wife has been diagnosed with cancer. Even though he hasn't had much screen time, his TV role is already much larger than his comic role â but that doesn't mean his TV version couldn't also be killed by Negan. He is also the titular main protagonist of his backstory, Here's Negan. Rick is knocked to the ground as the others run away. Otherwise, you should close this page and view another page. TV Negan is also the first main antagonist to kill more than one main character in one episode (Abraham Ford and Glenn Rhee). Long before Rick and his people came along, all three communities had experienced major altercations and defeats at the hands of the Saviors. He didn't like Brandon's plan and has one of his own.
