I'd have given it 5 stars, had it sounded good through a 1x12 cab. Between the resonance knob and the bass knob I can dial in a big, yet tight, bottom end. The clean tone is really pretty good, but, not Classic Fender clean good, but, then, this is not supposed to be a Fender clean amp. WOW! It’s also priced a lot less than other mini heads with a lot less power and versatility.

I've tried out several "Mini" amps and all were pretty amazing but, they all lacked either an FX loop or enough gain, etc. Only feature that would make this amp better might be Mp3 plug in capability.

I thought I had my heart set on the Mesa Boogie Mark Five 25 because of its, but when the 6505MH first became available at Sweetwater, I pulled the trigger, thinking I could always get the Mark Five 25 down the road. Needless to say, I was blown away! At 20 Watts into a closed back 1 X12 cab with an Eminence 12" speaker it is as loud as most people would want or need it to be, unless you are playing a very large or outdoor venue, but, those are usually run through the PA anyway. It's small but sturdy and has a 3 band EQ plus a resonance and Presence control which as I understand are like two more EQ settings... 1 being low mids and the other, high mids. If you love that palm mute thump and the resonant controlled feedback on your leads, this is perfect for you. It’s to be expected that the miniature version of one of the great is going to pretty much emulate its larger version, so it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise.
